House alterations

A number of projects have been undertaken at Monkswood in Kirkstall, Leeds, a site developed in the 1970s by members of Yorkshire Television to designs by Architects Brooks Thorp.

The houses are all individually designed and have recently been considered for listing by English Heritage.

No 6 had a flat roof which required replacement and the opportunity was taken to design a pitched roof with a profile sympathetic to the site as a whole, and to reduce future maintenance. Additions and alterations have also been completed at No 5, No 7 and No 8 and detailed design is underway to extend No 2.
