Braithwaite & Jackman advised a client on their existing house which needed to be extended significantly to accommodate a rapidly growing family.

The scheme involved adding a two storey timber framed extension over the existing bungalow to create a five bedroom house on a superb site with views over the Meanwood Valley.

Parents’ and childrens’ bedrooms were formed on the new upper floors thus freeing up living space on the ground floor. The timber construction was used for lightness, speed of construction and thermal efficiency. The exterior was clad in cedar boarding which is long lasting, easily maintained and comes from sustainable timber sources.
